IE had the privilege of working with some of the most awesome men in ministry this past January….notably, the leadership at Riverstone Church (Kennesaw, GA). After listening to them share their perspectives and viewpoints on the six core values of Riverstone, you could just tell these men are really, authentically living for Jesus.
We started the first day with Mark Nysewander (Associate Pastor) who spoke at length about the church’s strong commitment to prayer.

After we wrapped up with Mark, our crew tore everything down and moved all of our equipment to the main sanctuary, where we shot Tom Tanner (Senior Pastor) on the stage with musical instruments in the background.
Brand new Manfrotto tripod right there. You can see a Sennheiser shotgun mic pointed down toward his face in the background.
We shot this segment in the Riverstone sanctuary.
Tom is one of those guys who doesn’t need more than one or two takes to say exactly what he wants to say. I always make it a habit to shoot at least two takes no matter how good the first one was, but I don’t think it was necessary here. Tom was obviously comfortable in front of an audience.
After we shot him from this angle for the Place of Development video, we completely re-arranged the shot placing Tom with his back toward the open auditorium. By doing this, it really added some great depth to the shots of Tom speaking about Community Transformation.
After shooting all of the footage we needed for Community Transformation, we tore everything down again and moved upstairs to the Youth room. This was where we met Cory Hallett, and he spoke passionately about the church’s commitment to Outreach and preaching the gospel to all nations.

After shooting this segment with Cory, that was a wrap for Day One.
Day Two would feature Terry Cantrell (Associate Pastor) and Daniel Bashta (Worship Pastor).
Terry described Riverstone’s heart for healing (spiritual, physical, emotional, etc.) as expressed through the church’s many ministries: “Night of Healing Prayer,” “Sozo,” etc

After this segment was finished, we decided to pack everything up and move outside for the final shoot.
Lights, reflectors, cameras, tv’s, tables and sliders.
We brought the entire setup some 200 yards away from the nearest electrical outlet. #extensioncords
And there was this guy…
The uber-talented Daniel Bashta spoke about Riverstone’s true passion for worship.

The outside location really worked well to add depth and transition to the final 10-minute video

After each scene was captured (six separate locations throughout the church property), we edited 6 online videos Riverstone would use for their video marketing campaign on their website and across their social media channels, and we compiled all scenes into one stand-alone video they would show at the “Taste of Riverstone” 2 times a year.
The final video was 10 minutes in length….perfect for a dinner event where newcomers could get a true “taste” and feel for Riverstone’s vision and heart for the community. Here’s a collection of all videos produced on this project:
